Designing a Showstopping Pink Candlestick Arrangement: Tips & Tricks from My Latest Live Video
If you missed my latest live video, let me paint you a picture—because this arrangement was a vision! Picture soft pink peonies, delicate mini roses, and airy cherry blossoms, all nestled into lush greenery like cottonwood, maidenhair fern, and lamb’s ear. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any dreamier, in swoop the phoenix fern tails—graceful, wispy, and utterly show-stopping. Oh, and let’s not forget the designer pink ribbons that tie it all together with a bow (literally).
But don’t just take my word for it—go watch the magic unfold in the video! You can find the LIVE Video here!
And while you’re at it, here are a few pro tips I shared during the design process that you definitely don’t want to miss:
1. Create Depth with Layering
A great arrangement isn’t just about stuffing florals together—it’s about depth and dimension. Start with your base greenery (like maidenhair fern and cottonwood) to build structure. Then, work in your florals at different heights, letting some blooms peek out while others tuck in closer. This creates that full, organic look we all love.
2. The Power of Movement (And a Little “Extra” Magic!)
Now, you know I love a little flair—because extra is just my style. That’s exactly why I reached deep into my stash and pulled out the phoenix fern tails. I wanted this arrangement to be more than just pretty—I wanted it to be a showstopper. The phoenix fern adds that perfect touch of movement, giving the design a graceful, flowing effect that makes it feel almost alive. Placing them strategically at the edges draws the eye outward, making the whole arrangement feel larger, airier, and, let’s be real, a little fabulous. Because why settle for ordinary when you can have extraordinary?
3. Ribbon: The Finishing Touch
Never underestimate the impact of a well-placed ribbon! I used designer pink ribbons with lace accents to add a soft, romantic touch. When adding ribbon, let it cascade naturally—no forced curls or stiff loops. Think of it as the finishing flourish on a masterpiece.
